 Reverse Osmosis FAQ's

Reverse Osmosis Frequently-Asked-Questions

Question: "I have seen reverse osmosis water filter systems at my local Home Depot and Lowe's stores. They cost about $75 less than the PurePro 105. What's the difference?"

AARO: The systems the "Big Box" stores carry are undoubtedly good units for what they are, but their top-of-the-line RO units are merely 3-stage units, which do an inadequate job of purifying your drinking and cooking water. The PurePro 105 is a 5-Stage System which gives you TWO sediment and TWO carbon filters! These additional filtering stages remove as much as 20% more dusts, contaminants and rusts that would otherwise find their way into your water supply using "big box" reverse osmosis systems. The PurePro 105 ensures that your water will be pure, odorless and have a delicious taste.

Question: "How often do you change the filters on the PurePro 105?"

AARO: The replacement frequency depends on how much water your household uses in a given period of time. On average, the PurePro 105's 3 vertical cartridges should be changed every 6-8 months. The Stage 5 Post Carbon Filter about once a year and the Stage 4 TFC? Membrane about ever 4 years.

Question: "One RO system I've seen has a light at the base of the dedicated faucet that comes on when it is time to change your filters. Do you have that feature?"

AARO: In spite of what the makers would like you to believe, the light indicator is not part of a sensor which determines when your filters need changing. The lamp is merely attached to a small microchip powered by a watch battery - which is under the sink! - and is set to turn the light on exactly six months after the battery is put in place. (Providing the dampness under the sink doesn't corrode the battery terminal and disable the timer.) The filter replacement frequency of your RO system will vary according to use. (You can periodically test your water with the free test strips we provide with your system order or by using an inexpensive Digital TDS Meter to determine the proper time to replace your filters.)

Question: "It seems like e-coli bacteria contamination is in the news all the time now. Can the PurePro 105 filter out e-coli from our household water supply?"

AARO: The PurePro 105 can be upgraded with an Ultra-Violet purifier filter. Once added to your unit, the water is sent through that 6th Stage and exposed to UV light, which immediately kills 99.99% of all bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms that may exist in your incoming water supply.

Question: "What kind of warranty do you offer on the PurePro 105?"

AARO: The PurePro 105 is backed by a 1-year limited warranty covering material and labor. Any defective parts will be replaced free-of-charge within the first year of your order.

Question: "What is the daily output of the PurePro 105?"

AARO: The PurePro 105 can provide up to 50 gallons of pure, safe drinking and cooking water each and every day!
